About

The Highway Regulation Committee is a non-executive body responsible for managing public rights of way in Oldham. It has the power to create, stop up, divert, and extinguish footpaths, bridleways, and restricted byways under various sections of the Highways Act 1980 and other relevant legislation. This includes making orders for path extinguishment and diversion, and preparing consolidated maps of rights of way. The committee also reviews written comments on Traffic Regulation Orders and Public Space Protection Orders, making recommendations to the Deputy Chief Executive on these matters.
