Planning Committee

The Oldham Council Planning Committee is responsible for the council's non-executive planning functions. It considers and decides on a range of planning applications, including those for minerals or waste development, large-scale housing or commercial projects, and developments requiring an environmental statement. The committee also handles applications that are significant departures from the council's development plan, or those involving council land or staff. It reviews consultations from neighbouring authorities and nominates members to represent the council at hearings when decisions go against officer advice.
