About
The Shareholder Committee is responsible for overseeing Oldham Council's investments in companies, such as Miocare and Northern Roots, ensuring these companies align with council goals and policies. It approves shareholder agreements, reviews annual reports and financial accounts, and decides on the distribution of any surplus or dividends.
The committee appoints and removes company directors, agrees on the hiring and payment of external directors, and appoints company auditors. It also approves guidelines for council interaction with these companies and handles any reserved powers within company articles of association. The committee's decisions directly affect the council's financial interests and the governance of its subsidiary companies.
