About

The Devon and Cornwall Police and Crime Panel supports and challenges the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) in their duties. It reviews the PCC's police and crime plan and annual report, scrutinises their proposed council tax precept for policing, and holds confirmation hearings for senior appointments, including the Chief Constable, whom the panel can veto. The panel also scrutinises the PCC's actions and decisions, but not the performance of the police force itself, and considers non-criminal complaints against the PCC. Members of the public can ask questions relevant to the panel's functions at its meetings.
