About
The Employment and Appeals Committee is responsible for key staffing decisions and procedures for senior council officers. It shortlists candidates for the Head of Paid Service, Strategic Directors, Directors, and Heads of Service, and makes appointments for Heads of Service. The committee also handles disciplinary and grievance procedures for most Chief and Deputy Chief Officers, excluding the Head of Paid Service, Monitoring Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Democratic Services.
