Governance and Audit Committee

The Governance and Audit Committee scrutinises Powys Council's financial affairs, risk management, internal control, and corporate governance arrangements. It reviews and approves financial statements, audit plans, and audit opinions, ensuring effective internal and external audit processes. The committee makes recommendations to the council on the adequacy of these arrangements and the handling of complaints. It also reviews performance assessment reports and responses to the Auditor General's findings, ensuring accountability and value for money in the council's operations.
