The Cabinet considered a report of the
Director of Health and Care Integration, Director of Adult Social
Services and Deputy Place Lead, which sought to inform of the
Adult’s Services 2024/25 outturn financial position, detail
of issues that were impacting on the directorate, and an update on
the recovery plan.
The report author was in attendance to
present the information and to address the questions and the
comments of the Cabinet Members.
Resolved that the financial and
related service data, and plans for the remainder of 2024/25 and
the medium term be noted.
Reason for decision:
Cabinet Members should be kept updated
on the financial position of all Council directorates, as effective
budget management is critical to ensuring financial resources are
spent in line with the budget, and are targeted
towards the Council’s priorities.
Alternatives considered and
rejected:
No alternative as financial reporting
ensures the Council complies with CIPFA’s Financial
Management Code and its standards for management of financial
resources in the short, medium and long term, management of
financial resilience to meet unforeseen demands on services, and
management of unexpected shocks within financial circumstances.
