Purpose

To approve the receipt of GHNF grant of £1m for the
proposed town centre heat network project commercialisation; to
authorise the Director of Economy & Place and Director of
Corporate Services to enter into the grant agreement and commence
procurement of the required work

 The Cabinet considered a report of the
Director of Corporate Services, which sought approval to the
receipt of a Green Heat Network Fund (GHNF) grant for the
commercialisation stage of the Rochdale Town Centre Heat Network
project.
 
The Cabinet Member
for Climate Change and Environment delivered a brief summary of the
report’s key points.
 
The Climate Change
and Sustainability Project Manager was in attendance to present the
report and to address the questions and the comments of the Cabinet
Members.
 
Resolved that the recommendations
set out in section two of the report be agreed.
 
Reason for
decision:
Approval for the
receipt of the Section 31 grant is required in order to progress
the commercialisation stage of the heat network project.
