Purpose

The Council is currently carrying out a formal
tender exercise for the provision of Insurance Services to RMBC.
This is being done via two lots, Lot 1 (Buildings and Property),
and Lots 2 to 5 (Motor, Terrorism, Liability, and School Journeys).
Following conclusion of the tender process the Council will award a
contract to the successful supplier.

Failure to make an award would leave the

Decision:

Following tender moderation for
the Council’s Insurance Contract a decision has been made to
award all cover for Lots 2-5 to Risk Management Partners (RMP), and
Lot 1 to Travellers for a period of 5 years, with option to extend
by a further 2 years.

Reasons for the
Decision:

The Council’s current
Insurance contract expires on the 27th February 2025.
Throughout January a tender exercise took place in order to obtain
suitable bids for a new contract from the 28th February
2025. The successful bidders are RMBC incumbent suppliers and have
offered cover commensurate with our requirements.
Two bids were received in
respect of Property cover (Lot 1) and one bid received for all
other cover (split between Lots 2-5). Risk Management Partner bids
provided the cover required for all Lots, but Travellers won on
quality and price in respect of Property (Lot 1).
