Functions, Section 4C4 the Strategic Director of Children and Young
People’s Services is authorised to discharge executive
functions for: Education Place Planning.
Decision:
To extend the age of Todwick Primary School from 4
to 11 year olds to 3 to 11 year olds.
Reasons for the Decision:
This will allow the Local Authority to meet it
statutory duty to ensure that the is sufficient early years
provision.
Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:
This was the only school in the area that met the
requirements to apply for additional DfE capital funding to expand
provision (for which they were successful). Creation of additional capacity elsewhere in the
locality would not have been viable without the additional DfE
capital.
