Decision:
The key recommendation of the report is to
revoke and replace the existing TRO at Wath Interchange.
Reasons for the Decision:
Failure to modernise the TRO may leave the
authority open to legal challenge should the restriction at Wath
Interchange be enforced by either the Council or South Yorkshire
Police.
Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:
Maintaining the existing TRO is possible, but
without enforcement its likely vehicle drivers will continue to
ignore the existing ‘no-entry’ signage, leading to a
continuation of congestion and impact on bus services which
currently occur.
Therefore, this option has been
discounted.
