Assistant Chief Executive – Delegated Executive
Functions:
 
The Assistant Chief Executive is authorised to
discharge executive functions in relation to:- (6) Performance,
Intelligence and Improvement, including Policy and
Partnerships.
 
The functions and delegations of the Assistant
Chief Executive are currently being exercised by the Strategic
Director of Finance and Customer Services. This arrangement is set
out as a footnote, on the first page of Appendix 9 (Responsibility
for Functions) of the Council Constitution as follows:
 
Further to Appendix
9, Section 3A paragraph 3(e) of the Constitution the Chief
Executive has temporarily reallocated the functions and delegations
of the Assistant Chief Executive to the Strategic Director of
Finance and Customer Services

Decision:

To approve the undertaking of consultation to
support the refresh of the Inclusion Strategy.
 

Reasons for the Decision:

Public consultation and engagement is
essential to enable residents and stakeholders to contribute to the
development of any strategy. Therefore, the undertaking of in
person and online formats working in partnership with relevant
stakeholders is recommended. 
 

Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:

The Council could choose to develop and
implement the proposals without consultation. This option would not
allow residents to shape the Inclusion Strategy and would exclude
groups who would be impacted by the strategy. It is therefore not
recommended.
