Decision:

Acceptance of the £1.5m Pride in Place Impact
Fund through the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between
The Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local
Government and Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council

Reasons for the Decision:

In September 2025
Government announced its Pride in Place initiative. Within this
initiative sits a £150m funding allocation known as Pride in
Place Impact Fund. Rotherham is a recipient of this funding and the
Council has been allocated £1.5m capital within the funding
period Sept 2025 to March 2027.

The initiative aims to
provide immediate support to deliver improvements to high streets,
places and spaces of community value.

This Officer decision relates to the acceptance of
the funding through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding,
to be returned to Government by 7th November
2025.

Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:

The Council could choose not to accept the
£1.5m funding and not sign the MOU. This option is not
recommended.
