Purpose
To appoint a supplier to provide the Council
with a VoIP/cloud-based unified communications system (including
telephony) and contact centre solution/platform.

Brief Description of Decision:
To make a direct award and appoint RingCentral UK
Ltd to provide the Council’s Unified Communication
(Telephony) and Contact Centre platform.
Reasons for the Decision:
Following evaluation of the procurement options
against the Council’s requirements, the Council used the
Crown Commercial Services (CCS); Network Services 3; Lot 4b:
Digital Communication Services (Unified Communications) framework,
in accordance with the Council’s FPPR’s. This framework
allows for a direct award.
Details of alternative options considered and
rejected:

There is a need to act quickly to ensure business continuity beyond
the current contract. The requirements of the Council were able to
be satisfied through a Direct Award, hence this option was
discounted.
