Purpose
The steel bins are required for
both commercial and domestic properties. The steel bins for the
domestic element of the service are used to service flats and
communal properties across the borough and will have to meet the
requirements of the council’s various waste streams for both
business and households, which includes various types and colours
of lids. including reversable lids for households.
This will include spare parts
for the various steel bins and an option to refurb the steel
containers.

Brief Description of
Decision:
The purpose of this officer
decision by Sam Barstow, Assistant Director of Community Safety and
Street Scene is to direct award a contract for the supply of Steel
Wheeled Refuse Containers and their replacement parts to Storm
Environmental Ltd via ESPOFramework 860_22 Lot
2.
A business case has been signed off from all
relevant Council service areas.
This includes spare parts for the various
steel bins and an option to refurbish the steel containers.
The contract value is £762,562 over 48
months.

To ensure the continued
provision of wheeled bins

The alternative not to procure steel bins in
the short term has been rejected because without bins the Council
is unable to run the service and plan for new service provision.
