‘Resolved:
- That Cabinet delegated the decision to allocate and spend the £3m Feasibility Fund to the Strategic Director for Regeneration & Environment in consultation with the Leader of the Council and Assistant Director Financial Services.’
Minute 8 refers.
Decision:
To approve the allocation of £10,000 from the Feasibility Fund to support The Chesterfield Canal Trust’s Master Plan.
Reasons for the Decision:
The budget holder requires an officer decision in order to release the £10,000 from the Feasibility Fund allocated to the Council from SYMCA.
Details of alternative options considered and rejected:
A) Do not contribute- this would be reputationally bad for the Council as the 3 other local authorities have contributed a portion of the master plan fee.
B) Fund the Masterplan from a Council service was not possible budget was not available and would place pressures on other areas of the service
