41.2:
In relation to their Directorates, each Strategic
Director has a general power to make council contracts, including
the power to determine select lists of tenderers, to accept tenders
and to award contracts.  This is subsequently delegated to
Assistant Directors in the sub-scheme of delegation
 

Brief Description of
Decision:

Following the evaluation for this tender, it
is the recommendation of the project team that the Council
progresses to issue an intent to award to Esh Construction Ltd. to
the value of £466,393.96 (£336,393.96 tender price +
£130,000 provision sum for Moorgate Active Travel
Scheme).
 

Reasons for the Decision:

To deliver the schemes as part of the broader
City Regions Sustainable Transport Settlement Programme approved by
Cabinet in April 2023
 

Details of alternative options
considered and rejected:

Not awarding the tender would require either
the scheme to be withdrawn, or design & construction resource
being reallocated away from other RMBC commitments. Both of these
would amount to delay or withdrawal of RMBC committed projects.
