Assistant Director’s portfolio.

Brief Description of
Decision:

To approve the formal adoption of the Draft
Integrated Incident Response and Recovery Plan (dated June
2024)

Reasons for the Decision:

The previous Major Incident Plan, Framework
for Recovery and Business Continuity Framework are updated and
amalgamated into one holistic and overarching plan.
 
The Council, as a category 1 responder, is
required under the Civil Contingences Act to “maintain
plans for preventing emergencies; reducing, controlling or
mitigating the effects of emergencies in both the response and
recovery phases; and taking other action in the event of
emergencies”

The attached Integrated Incident Response and
Recovery Plan seeks to achieve this statutory requirement.

The plan has been reviewed and updated in line
with learning from recent local and national incidents as well as
processes and practices tested in recent responses to
incidents.
