Brief Description of
Decision:
To Direct Award the Narrow Access Vehicle
Procurement Contract to Dennis Eagle for x 2 Narrow Access
Vehicles.
The decision to direct award was due to only
supplier being able to meet the specification of the unique waste
management collection vehicles.
This is not a key
decision.
Reasons for the Decision:
The reason for the decision to direct award
was due the market being very small in terms of RCV production for
waste management vehicles and even smaller for Narrow Access 12
tonne vehicles which are specialist in concept and design. They
used to collect waste from high footfall and hard to access areas
as they are considerably smaller than a standard 26t RCV. Rotherham
Council currently has 1734 properties that the Narrow Access round
collects from after performing route specific risk assessments.
Dennis Connect were the only business able to
meet the specification so a direct award was recommended.
