Cabinet

The Cabinet, made up of the Leader of the Council and up to nine elected County Councillors, is responsible for preparing council policies and budgets and handles most day-to-day decision-making. It provides leadership and accountability for the local community, with each Cabinet Member overseeing a specific policy area.

The Cabinet operates using a fortnightly Forward Plan, which outlines upcoming key decisions it is expected to make.
