Agreed that:-

Approval be given to accept the Commonwealth Games Legacy
allocation of funding for Sandwell of £801,714.28.

Authorised the Director of Children and Education to enter into a
contract with the West Midlands Combined Authority for the delivery
of the Commonwealth Games Legacy provision.

Reasons for the decision

The funding will be used to tackle high levels
of youth unemployment in Sandwell and will offer additional
employment support in the borough.

Alternative options considered

We could not deliver the contract, but this
would be to the detriment of employment and skills offer to
residents in the borough.
