Purpose

The contract for Domestic Electrical
Components had been extended as outlined in the Cabinet Report 18th
October 2023 – Urgent Items – Approval of Contract
Extensions – Item 1A.

That report gained approval for the extension of time to continue
service delivery in a critical area of the repairs service.

However, there was no allowance made within that report for the
assessment of the value of work that was due to be delivered during
this extension period.

The Procurement team have carried out a detailed review of the
final account and calculate the full value of work delivered
through the whole contract to be £4,033,573, an increase of
£916,573.00 above the original contract sum of
£3,117,000.00.

The final account us yet to be fully signed off and circa
£9,000 should be allowed as contingency for invoices yet to
be submitted in relation to work completed during the final month
of the contract.

Therefore a total additional cost of £930,000 is a prudent
assessment of the full cost of the contract.
