To seek approval to
appointments to School Governing Bodies.

All governing bodies of maintained schools are constituted under
the School Governance (Constitution) (England) Regulations 2012 as
amended by the School Governance (Constitution and Federations)
(England) (Amendment) Regulations 2014.
 

·      
Under the Responsibility for Functions (the Scheme of Delegation)
the Cabinet Member has authority to nominate to vacancies for Local
Authority Governors on School Governing Bodies.  Governing Bodies are the appointing
bodies.  The current nominations are set
out below for consideration.
 
 

·      
A key consideration in the appointment of all Governors, should be
the skills and experience the Governing Body need to be effective.
All new applicants complete an application form noting their skills
at the time of nomination, be noted.

The approval to make appointments to School
Governing Bodies be granted due to the reasons highlighted in this
report.
