Reason for the

In response to the unprecedented levels of homelessness in recent
months, the Council is experiencing rising pressures and increasing
expenditure on temporary accommodation. To address this, and to
support the transition of singles and families from temporary
accommodation into more stable housing, the Council proposes
operating a period of direct lets on up to 45% of all Registered
Provider properties offered to Property Pool Plus. This targeted
approach is intended to relieve homelessness more effectively and
reduce the reliance on costly temporary accommodation
solutions.

direct lets, but it would continue to see increasing numbers of
singles and families presenting as homeless, which the Council has
to place in temporary accommodation.
