Purpose

The Council’s
Southport’s events programme consists of three major events
– the Southport Food & Drink Festival, the Southport Air
Show and the British Musical Fireworks Championship.
 
The procurement of Stewarding
and security services are required at these events to help with
public safety and the smooth running of the events.
A restricted tender will take
place where 5 companies will be invited to tender as per the
specification supplied. These will be scored on both quality and
cost and a supplier appointed. The contract will be awarded for one
year with 4 optional years, essentially creating a 5 year contract.
 
The contract will
fall under the Light Touch Regime under the new 2024 procurement
regulations.

consultation with the Cabinet Member for Regeneration & Skills,
awarded the necessary contracts and extensions upon completion of
the competitive procurement process, be noted.

& Drink Festival attracts 30,000 visitors over the 3 days., The
Southport Air Show attracts a crowd of 30,000 visitors over the 2
days. And The Fireworks attracts crowds of approx. 20,000 over 2
nights.
