Purpose

The purpose of this report is
to seek approval for the proposed Bereavement Services fees and
charges for the forthcoming financial year from April
2026/27.
These fees relate to
crematorium, cemetery, burial and associated bereavement services
provided by Sefton Council.

Bereavement Service laid out in Appendix A, be noted.

 

Reason(s) for the Decision:

 

The proposed Bereavement Services fees and charges
represent a balanced approach that reflects market conditions,
demand patterns, and the Council’s responsibility to maintain
high-quality, sustainable services. Approval of these proposals
will support financial resilience while ensuring continued
provision for Sefton residents.
 

Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:

 

Freezing fees – rejected due to increasing
operational costs and financial sustainability concerns.
