Purpose

A review of the leisure service
pricing structure has been carried out resulting in a proposal to
uplift prices by an average 4%. This is necessary to contribute to
meeting the increased costs incurred in providing the service
including national non-domestic rates (NNDR), supplier costs,
staffing and utilities.
 

Decision

Decision(s):

(1) 
The 4% increased price of community swimming lessons
be noted.

(2) 
The 4% increased price of school swimming lessons be
noted.

(3) 
Be noted that the gym membership price had been
maintained at the 2024–25 level.
(4) 
The maintenance of the GP referral session prices at
2023 levels, along with several community?focused initiatives such
as Jake’s Sensory World, be noted.

(5) 
The 4% increased price at Splashworld be
noted.
 

Reason(s) for the
Decision(s):

 
The increase of approx. 4% will enable the
service to generate additional revenue needed to meet the MTFP and
cover the increased costs the service has.

 
Alternative Options Considered and
Rejected:

 
Maintaining
the current pricing structure will negatively impact on the ability
of the service to cover costs of provision.
