Purpose

This report is presented to Cabinet Member to approve the change in scope to the current proposals at Litherland High School which is outlined in the background report.

Decision:

1. The approved allocation of £400,000 from the capital receipt received from the sale of the former St Wilfrid’s site to approve the change in the current proposals include upgrading existing facilities by repurposing the hard standing play space into sporting provision to redirecting funding to establish a dedicated Sports Hall within the existing school grounds, be noted. It further be noted that this facility would be accessible to both primary and secondary students for various sporting activities.

Reasons for the recommendation:

The school believethat the advantages of this proposal for both the school and the broader community significantly outweigh the benefits of the existing plan, which would only be viable during the summer months.
