Decision

On 5th March 2026, Cabinet gave approval to undertake a tender exercise to recommission the stop smoking service known as Smokefree Sefton, via competitive process under the Health Care Services Provider Selection Regime (PSR) Regulations 2023. Delegated authority was also obtained for the Director of Public Health in conjunction with the Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing to award the contract to the successful tenderer following the completion of the above tender exercise. The current Smokefree Sefton service is provided by ABL Health Ltd whose contract ends on 31st March 2027.

The procurement process has now been completed and new contract awarded.
