Purpose
To seek approval for the
procurement process through the Chest for specialist works
contractor services to deliver interim coastal protection
works.
Decision
Decision(s):
(1)
the tender process to procure
specialist contractor services to deliver interim
coastal protection works be approved.
(2)
The Assistant Director of Operational In-House
Services be delegated responsibility to award the contract to the
preferred bidder in consultation with the Cabinet
Member.
Reasons for the Decision(s):
In compliance with Sefton
Council’s Contract Procedure Rule 1.10.1, a Pre-Procurement
Report is required to be submitted in order to secure approval to
commence a procurement exercise.
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:
The Council does not have any
existing term contractors with this specialism currently working
with them.
A framework of existing
suppliers could be used, such as the Environment Agency’s,
but an initial exploration of this option found the scheme was too
small value for those contractors to consider it.
