Purpose

The purpose of this report is to seek approval to the supplementary revenue estimate of £300,000 following the award of grant funding through the Council Housebuilding Support Fund.

Decision

Decision(s):

1. The approved supplementary revenue estimate of £300,000 in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Corporate Services and the Section 151 Officer fully funded through the Council Housebuilding Support Fund, be noted.
2. Authority to be delegated to the Executive Director of Regeneration, Economy and Assets to sign the grant funding agreement with MHCLG and any other associated documents.
3. Authority be delegated to the Executive Director of Regeneration, Economy and Assets to sign the grant funding agreement with Sovini and any other associated documents.

Reasons for the recommendation:

The Council Housebuilding Support Fund provides opportunity to progress the Social Housing Transformation Project through the Sefton 2030 Partnership and specifically provide resource, skills and funding to bring forward new social and affordable housing across Sefton supporting households in housing need on the Council’s housing waiting list (Property Pool Plus).

Alternative options considered and rejected:

The Council could opt not to deliver the activities and return the grant funding to MHCLG. This option is not recommended as the project would be under resource and funded.
