of those locations which have been recommended for inclusion in the
Highway Maintenance Programme for 2024/25

That the report be approved, and all comments
and any additional schemes recommended by Cabinet Member shall be
investigated to determine whether any adjustment to the current
listings is appropriate.

Decision(s):
 
To acknowledge the comments made by
Cabinet Member for Locality Services and approve the prioritised
programme of highway maintenance works for delivery during
2024/25.
 
Alternative Options
Considered or Rejected:
 
To supplement the proposed carriageway
improvement programmes, wholesale footway reconstructions, footway
slurry seal applications and carriageway micro asphalt treatments
across the borough will be suspended allowing the relevant funding
to be directed towards an extended carriageway resurfacing and
surface dressing works programme. Consideration was given to
investing in these other areas during 2024/25, but this has been
rejected on the basis that the proposed approach is considered to
be the most effective use of the available resource, taking into
account the lifecycle assessment of the highway network.
