Purpose

To seek approval for the
closure of the northbound carriageway, following on with the
closure of the southbound carriageway of Promenade, Southport, to
carry out a drainage connection for the development at Southport
Theatre and Convention Centre.

Decision

Decision(s):
 

(1) 
the temporary closures of the carriageway of
Promenade, Southport be approved; and
 

(2) 
the necessary legal procedures, including those of
public consultation and advertising the Council’s intention
to implement the Order, be approved.
 
Reasons for the Decision(s):
 
The Council has the power to make temporary Traffic
Regulation Orders under (Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984). 
 
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:
 
No other traffic management
options are available to consider.
