Purpose

To seek approval for the
closure of the footway of Richmond Road, Crosby to facilitate the
erection of the new development at junction of Richmond Road and
Moor Lane, Crosby.  

Decision

Decision(s):
That
 
 

(1) 
the temporary closure of the footway of Richmond
Road, Crosby be approved; and
 

(2) 
the necessary legal procedures, including those of
public consultation and advertising the Council’s intention
to implement the Order, be approved.
 
Reasons for the Decision(s):
 
The Council has the power to make temporary Traffic
Regulation Orders under (Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984).
 
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:
 
Allowing pedestrians to
continue using the footway was considered but was deemed not to be
safe given the proximity to the development.
