Purpose

To seek Cabinet Member approval
to proceed with the temporary closure of the footway of Broad Hey,
Netherton between the 21st
August 2023 and 17th September 2023.

(1) the temporary
closure of the footway of Broad Hey,
Netherton be approved
 
(2) The necessary
legal procedures, including those of public consultation and
advertising the Council’s intention to implement the Order,
be approved.

 
Reasons for the Decision(s):
 
The Council has
the power to make temporary Traffic Regulation Orders under Section
14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
 
 
Alternative Options Considered and Rejected:
 
Consideration was given to
providing grass mats on the verge opposite to create a pedestrian
walkway. This was felt to be unsafe as the mats could move to
create a trip hazard.
