Purpose

To seek approval for the
progression of a Traffic Regulation Order, the effect of which will
reduce an existing ‘Monday – Saturday 10am – 8pm
30 minutes No return within 30 minutes Residents with permits
exempt’ parking bay from 9 metres in length to 6 metres in
length, and to extend a section of ‘No Waiting at Any
Time’ waiting restrictions by 3 metres.

Decision(s):
 

(1)          
the implementation of a Traffic Regulation Order be
approved, the effect of which introduce a ‘Limited
Waiting’ bay (Monday – Saturday 10am – 8pm, 30
minutes no return within 30 minutes, Residents with permits EXEMPT)
on the south-east side of Virginia Street, from a point 15 metres
north east of the north east kerbline
of Arbour Street to a point 21 metres north east of the north east
kerbline of Arbour Street.
(2)          
the implementation of a Traffic Regulation Order be
approved, the effect of which prohibit waiting at any time on the
south-east side of Virginia Street, from a point 21 metres north
east of the north east kerbline of
Arbour Street to a point 73 metres north east of the north east
kerbline of Arbour Street.
(3)          
the necessary legal procedures, including those of
public consultation and advertising the Council’s intention
to implement the Order, be approved;
(4)          
in the event that no objections are received during
the consultation process referred to in (3) above, the Chief Legal
& Democratic Officer be authorised to make the Order and the
Highway Network Manager be authorised to implement the Order; and
in the event that objections are received during the consultation
process, the matter be referred to Licensing & Regulatory
Committee for consideration in accordance with the Council’s
Constitution.

costs will be borne by the resident.
