Governance Committee

The Governance Committee advises the Sevenoaks District Council on constitutional matters, electoral arrangements, and the Members' Allowance Scheme. It reviews the Audit Committee's structure and ensures the Council complies with standards. The committee makes recommendations on the Council's Constitution and decision-making processes. It also advises on parliamentary and local elections, parish boundary reviews, ward structures, and the number of councillors. The committee receives recommendations from the Joint Independent Remuneration Panel regarding the Members' Allowance Scheme and makes its own recommendations to the Council.
