North East Local Area Committee

The North East Local Area Committee, comprising councillors from Burngreave, Firth Park, Shiregreen & Brightside, and Southey Wards, empowers local communities by giving them greater control over decision-making and the delivery of council services.

The committee oversees the creation of an annual Area Committee Plan, developed with resident priorities, and works with local partners to ensure services meet community needs. It monitors the delivery of these plans and is empowered to set priorities and direct resources, influencing the council's strategic plans. Public questions and petitions can be submitted to the committee, though certain matters, such as individual planning applications or confidential issues, are excluded.
