8.1

The
Head of SEND service introduced the report to the Committee which
detailed the progress of Sheffield SEND & Alternative Provision
(AP) local arrangements under the SENDAP Ofsted and Care Quality
Commission (CQC) inspection Framework expectations.

8.2

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Education,
Children and Families Policy Committee:-

Note
the overview of the Special Educational Needs / Disability (SEND)
and Alternative Provision (AP) Area Self Evaluation Framework and
expected updates.
Note
the last inspection occurred in 2018 and have not yet been
inspected under the new Inspection framework of 2023.
Note
the Local Area SEND Partnership continues to use Annex A data
(lists 1 and 2) so that as a Local Area we define our priorities,
using the data to respond to the needs of children and young
people. The Annex A sets out the information that inspectors
request when they notify the local area partnership of an area SEND
full inspection. It also sets out the information that the
inspectors will request to assist them in selecting children and
young people’s cases for tracking, and the further
information they will request about those selected.

8.3

Reasons for Decision

8.3.1

This is
a statutory document owned by the SENDAP Area Partnership. We have
agreed this is a true reflection of the current and planned work
happening across SEND and AP in the city. Education, Health, Care, Communities, Children,
Young People and Families as well as data highlights this document
is addressing priorities from 2023 and will be updating for
priorities for 2024 by February.

Alternatives Considered and Rejected

8.4.1

No alternatives have been considered as the
SENDAP SEF is a statutory document as outlined in the SENDAP Area
inspection framework.
