Purpose

A GIS Managed Service is a
cloud hosted IT architecture which provides spatial intelligence,
applications, and maps to users across the Council, underpinning
many important and some statutory functions, and embedding spatial
data, maps and services into other Council systems.
 
The purpose of the report is to
seek approval to commission a new 3 year
contract for a GIS Managed Service and associated GIS software
licensing commencing 23rd February 2025 - 22nd February 2028, with
a budget of £695,000.
 
The commissioned services
facilitate delivery of the Council’s functions, rather than
being the mechanism for delivery of those functions and as such are
a commonly arising item.

The commissioning of a 3 year
contract, with an estimated value of up to £695,000 for a GIS
Managed Service and software maintenance licensing to deliver the
Council’s requirements for spatial intelligence and
functionality, and to ensure the continuation of key / statutory
functions which use GIS services and data as set out in the
report.
