Purpose

To seek approval to award a bespoke Schools Insurance contract with Zurich Municipal, for the period of 31 March 2025 to 30 March 2026.

Decision

To Direct Award the Schools Insurance contract for 2025-26 to Zurich Municipal as requested by schools at the Education Funding Forum meeting of 26 February 2025.

Reasons for the decision

·        To provide the Mandatory Insurance requirement for schools to protect the assets and liabilities of the schools and the Council.

·        To support the decision of the Education Finding Forum in their choice of this insurance option.

Alternative options considered

The Education Funding Forum rejected an alternative option to join the Department for Educations Risk Protection Arrangement as a replacement for this insurance provision for 2025-26.
