5.1

At its
meeting on 3rd December 2024 the South LAC, on
the basis of a verbal report agreed to allocate the
remaining £20,000 of the Nether Edge and Sharrow budget to
local parks improvements. No further information about spending
proposals for this budget allocation was considered. The LAC is now
asked to agree that this funding will be used to improve the
surface of the Mount Pleasant cricket nets and refurbish the
Staveley Road play area.
 

5.2

Since
the previous LAC meeting on 18 February 2025 the following
expenditure has been approved under the delegation set out
above:

Nether
Edge and Sharrow: £553 to support parks development, to be
added to the previously agreed sum of £20,000 for the purpose
described above at paragraph 1.1.4.
Graves
Park: £359 to support youth work at St Chad’s Church,
Woodseats.

 

5.3

RESOLVED: That the South Local Area
Committee:

(a) 
Agrees to award £25,000 to each ward from its 2025/26 budget
for spending in line with community plan priorities

(b) 
Notes the funds spent under delegated powers since the December
2024 South LAC meeting
Agrees
that the £20,000 of the Nether Edge and Sharrow budget
allocated to local parks improvements by the South LAC at the
meeting of December 2024 will be used to improve the surface of the
Mount Pleasant cricket nets and refurbish the Staveley Road play
area.

5.4

Reasons for Decision

The
South LAC is asked to note delegated decisions in respect of LAC
funding to address the identified local priorities within the South
LAC Community Plan.

Alternatives Considered and Rejected

None.
Spending decisions made by the Community Services Manager under the
authority delegated by the LAC in October 2024 are required to be
reported to the next LAC meeting so that the LAC can monitor its
delegated budget and delivery of the Community Plan
