To commission a contract for the supply of
water and waste-water services to the Council to be undertaken

Content

Approve the commission of a contract for the
supply of water and waste-water services from an external provider
for a period of up to 4 years with an estimated value of
£9,606,000.

Reasons for the decision

The decision will help ensure the Council will
continue to have a contract in place for the supply of water and
waste-water services. This will enable the Council to undertake a
new procurement process in accordance with its standing orders and
the PA23.
 

Alternative options considered

Do nothing and allow
the current contract to expire.

 
This option has been excluded
as there is a requirement for the provision of water and
waste-water services, deemed water rates are likely to be
significantly higher and the Council
needs to comply with the PA23.

 

 

 

Self-deliver

 
This is not a viable option; the Council has
not the capacity or appetite to supply its own water or waste-water
services.
