9.1
The Committee considered a report of the
Executive Director of Neighbourhoods which set out the forward
agenda for the Communities, Parks and Leisure (CPL) Policy
Committee for the 2025/26 year. It outlined the key actions
required to build on last year’s progress and deliver the
priorities of the Council Plan and City Goals.
9.2
RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the
Communities, Parks and Leisure Policy Committee:-
(a)
Formally acknowledges the progress made during 2024/25, recognising
the contributions of Elected Members, Officers, and partners in
advancing our strategic objectives and laying strong foundations
for future delivery;
(b)
Endorses the key issues outlined in Section 3 of the report as
priority areas for the Committee’s forward agenda in 2025/26,
ensuring alignment with the Council Plan and City Goals; and
(c)
Commits to cross-committee collaboration to actively progress the
opportunities and address the challenges identified in Section 3 of
the report, embedding them within the wider Council Plan and
ensuring coordinated action across relevant policy areas.
9.3
Reasons for
Decision
9.3.1
The recommendations support the continued
strategic development of the organisation and will enable the
delivery of our Council Plan by agreeing the key issues that this
Committee needs to address in the 2025/26 year.
.4
Alternatives
Considered and Rejected
9.4.1
Alternative Option 1: Do nothing. Not set out
a forward agenda for 2025/26 – this was rejected because
having agreed a new Council Plan, this committee needs to set out
the things we want to achieve in the coming year for the residents
of Sheffield.
