10.1

The Committee considered a report of the
Executive Director of Neighbourhood Services which sought approval
from the Housing Policy Committee to commission a contract with an
external insurance provider for the provision of Leasehold Block
Insurance across the Council’s leasehold properties for a
period of 5 years with a policy value of up to £3
million.

 

 

10.2

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the
Housing Policy Committee approves the commissioning of a new
contract for Leasehold Block Insurance for approximately 3000
Council owned properties, for a contract period of 5 years and with
an estimated policy value of up to £3 million.

Reasons for
Decision

 

 

10.3.1

It is recommended that approval be granted to
commission the appropriate contract for the appointment of an
insurer to provide leasehold block insurance, with a view to
awarding a new contact by March 2026. This will help enable the
Council to continue to provide this key service. The commission of
the contract will ensure the Council is operating in accordance
with all applicable procurement law and achieving best value in its
