8.1
The Head of Programmes and
Accountable Body was in attendance to present the Economic
Development Skills and Culture Policy Committee Year Ahead report
for 2025-26. The report outlined a forward agenda for the Economic
Development, Skills and Culture Policy Committee in 2025-26 and set
out key steps needed in order to build
on the progress made in 2024-25 and to deliver on responsibilities
under the Council Plan and Growth Plan.
8.2
RESOLVED
UNANIMOUSLY: That Economic Development,
Skills and Culture Policy Committee:-
a)
Note the progress made in 2024/25, recognising the
work of Members, Officers and Partners to establish strong
strategic foundations for the organisation and the EDSC’s
role in delivery these
b)
Consider the key issues identified in Section 3 of
the report as part of the forward agenda for 2025-26
c)
Agree to work in collaboration with other Policy
Committees to ensure the opportunities and issues identified as
Council Plan priorities are taken forward in 2025-26

Reasons for Decision
8.3.1
The recommendations will enable
EDSCC Policy Committee to effectively prioritise resource in the
delivery of our Council Plan by agreeing the key issues that we
need to address in the 2025/26 year.

Alternatives Considered and Rejected
8.4.1
To not set out a forward agenda
for 2025/26 – this was rejected because now we have plans to
align to, we need to set out for citizens the things we want to
achieve in 2025/26
