The Service Manager for Youth Justice Service introduced the report which sought approval from the Committee to approve and support the delivery of the Sheffield Youth Justice Plan 2025/26, which would focus on:

o   Early intervention and prevention

o   Tackling disproportionality

o   Reducing first-time entrants

o   Addressing serious youth violence and exploitation

o   Supporting victims and community safety

o   Improving education, training, and employment outcomes

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That the Education, Children and Families Policy Committee:-

a)    Note the contents of the Sheffield Youth Justice Plan 2025/2.

b)    Endorse the key priorities and support their delivery through partnership arrangements

Reasons for Decision

Approval of the Sheffield Youth Justice Plan 2025/26 ensures the Council meets its statutory duty, supports a joined-up response to preventing offending, and enables delivery of a clear, evidence-based strategy to improve outcomes for children and communities.
