The Committee considered a report of the Director of Strategy, Performance and Communications setting out the development and main content of the Council’s Strategic Business Plan. The report outlines the progress made so far in delivering against the Council Plan 2024-28, and key priorities for the remaining life of the Plan.

RESOLVED UNANIMOUSLY: That Strategy and Resources Policy Committee:-
(a) notes the progress made towards the outcomes set out in the Council Plan; and
(b) approves the priorities set out in the Strategic Business Plan to provide strategic focus to the Council’s work for the remaining life of the Council Plan.
- 3
Reasons for Decision
- 3.1
This decision will give clear direction to Council services around the priorities identified by Elected Members that require rapid improvement, and support focused attention and accountability around delivery of that work.
- 4
Alternatives Considered and Rejected
- 4.1
The alternative to this plan would be to do nothing and rely on individual services to create their own plans without a business plan for the whole organisation. This has been rejected as it would be less effective at helping the Council to prioritise its work and drive progress on the key issues that have been identified.
