Purpose

Decision
a)
That the former caretaker property at E-Act Pathways Academy School be declared surplus, E-Act Pathways Academy Trust no longer required the property and formally handed this back to SCC removing this from their leased-out area. Following consultations with relevant council departments it was established that SCC department also have no requirement for the delivery of other services.
b)
That the property is to be offered for social housing or marketed for sale on the open market and a capital receipt invested into the education estate
Reasons for the decision
The site is vacant and no longer required for education purposes and the portfolio does not require them for the delivery of other services.
The property sits outside the boundary of the current school site and could be separated and utilised for alternative use as either social housing or private housing.
Alternative options considered
Portfolio services have been consulted on identifying alternative use for the houses, none have been identified. Continuing to leave the site vacant will mean the Council having to commit funding on a regular basis for vacant property maintenance.
