Reasons for Decision

  1. 3.1

Apply a variation to the current contracts for Dementia Daytime Activities to enable an extension for a period of 14 months (1st February 2027 to 31st March 2028), at a total cost of £902,949 plus uplift. This is to provide time for detailed scoping of future options and align contract period to financial year budgeting. The procurement strategy for this will be sent to the Senior Responsible Officer for approval.

  1. 3.2

Within this period, this will enable officers to fully scope an inclusive and co-produced specification for fully formed dementia day activities programme that will meet the requirements for people access day activity programmes and help us understand and respond to the funding constraints that are applied to services.

  1. 4

Alternatives Considered and Rejected

  1. 4.1

To issue an ITT based on the current model. This would offer continuity of the current provision but not allow us the ability to work with the market to develop a wider breadth, or to evaluate alternative delivery models.
